BW5 to Frank!: case examples

One of the migration tracks we have invested heavily in over the past years is the transition from Tibco BW5 to the open source Frank!Framework. Four years ago, we started by developing the Frank!Analyzer, which allows us to automatically assess the complexity of BW5 components. After that, we created the Frank!Generator, a tool that automates the conversion of a large percentage of BW5 components into Frank! configurations.

Proof of migration

Two years ago, we added the Proof of Migration to this track. This tool demonstrates that migrated components retain exactly the same functionality as their original BW5 counterparts with a guarantee of 100 percent. This gives you complete certainty that the migration is correct and reliable. Watch the video in which Erwin explains how this works.

Proven migration tracks

By now we have delivered several major successes using this migration approach.

Large Dutch insurer

All BW5 components with Salesforce integrations based on SOAP were successfully migrated to the Frank!Framework using BW52Frank!. In addition to the one to one migrations, we also added REST endpoints to modernize all integrations.

Top 5 Dutch bank

For a top 5 Dutch bank, we successfully migrated ten back-end systems that were originally integrated using BW5. The Proof of Migration validated all migrations.

Belgian international company

For a Belgian international company, we are currently migrating around one hundred BW5 components to the Frank!Framework, including full proof of migration for each one.

Other integration platforms

Although we specialize in the migration from Tibco BW5 to the Frank!Framework, this migration track can also be used for platforms such as Oracle Service Bus, IBM ACE, Adeptia Connect, and SAP Cloud Integration.
