Java Software Engineer (open source framework)

The Role

As an experienced Java Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the Frank!Framework, an open source integration tool based on Java. The framework's unique feature is that it is fully configurable in XML, allowing users with little programming knowledge to develop integrations.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Focus on building new features and maintaining existing functionality.
• You will work in a creative development team, actively participating in technical brainstorming sessions.
• You implement automated testing with tools like JUnit, Mockito and Sonatype.
• You use your knowledge of JMS, HTTP, SOAP, XML, JSON and the Spring Framework.
• You work in an agile way, we follow the Kanban methodology (quality over quantity)
• You participate in continuous improvement of the framework and its integrations with various systems.

What we are looking for

• You have at least 5 years of experience in IT
• You have knowledge of Java, Maven, JUnit, Spring Framework, SOAP/XML/JSON, REST, Queuing systems, SQL, Git/GitHub, Eclipse/IntelliJ, CI/CD, Docker/containers
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
• You are able to work independently but also collaborate effectively with the team.
• You have a completed college education in Computer Science or similar.
• You have excellent communication skills.
• You like to brush up on knowledge yourself and want to stay up to date with the latest technology.
